Jirovec

Jan Jirovec is a freelance artist living and creating in Prague, Czech Republic. He studied ceramics in high school and then painting and new media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, which he graduated in 2003. He works in painting and sculpture, which he connects and combines with each other. His painting work is very broad, he experiments with different styles and techniques. Recently, he mainly creates eclectic, decadent sculptures with a metaphorical subtext. In them, he uses fragments from commercial sculpting activities, often from film and advertising projects, which he connects with historical figurative ceramics. Jan Jirovec is part of the Czech art scene, he has had several solo exhibitions and a number of group exhibitions, he is represented in private collections. He is occasionally involved in teaching activities - he works as a lecturer at summer art camps for children and provides private drawing and painting lessons.
