I'm an artist by birth and UX designer by profession.
I have had an amazing so called 'professional career'. Went to art college for graduation, then went on to pursue Masters degree in Design from the most prestigious institute of India - IDC, IIT Bombay. Hopped in and out of companies, exploring various areas of design- from visual merchandising, book design, print design to E learning and finally settled on User Experience Design. I have been working in UX since almost 18 years now and have been doing really good from the 'Career' perspective. Now here comes a twist : )
I was spiritually awakened. And there were Many Many revelations..
I realised, I joined the whole Art school, design school only for the simple fact - 'I Loved To Draw' Then I went behind building a career and The purpose it all start with.. Drawing.. was lost somewhere, and I didn't even realise it!
Well Now, I paint the whole day. Sometimes even whole nights, only with a couple of hours of break. I take up small freelance projects, just enough to support my 9YO daughter and myself, and of course this purpose of my life : )
I had exhibited some works in a group show back in 1999. Have been painting on and off last many years, only as a hobby. In my earlier works I do see patterns and style. However in my recent works, after the awakening, the style isn't mere use of medium and colours. Though I have been painting only in water colours recently, the use of colours, drawing, compositions have been changing rapidly.
What remains constant is the Experience and the Expression.
The Experience of oneness with the universe And The Expression through flowers.I paint flowers. Big and small. Realistic, ornamental and anything in-between. They all have a message, something to say, something to feel, realise, introspect... or just feel the beauty, peace and joy - the way I feel while painting them.
