A registered artist of the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Japan – Arts and Culture for Children Development Program, the artist is a sculptural and installation artist who completed a Master’s degree at Kyushu University (formerly the Kyushu Institute of Design). In 2026, Light Bridge Across the Strait was shortlisted for the [d]arc awards in the United Kingdom, and in 2025, Where the Light Dwells received an Honorable Mention at the LIT Lighting Design Awards in Switzerland. The artist has also been recognized with awards from the National Art Center, Tokyo, and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. Their work has been selected for major art festivals and residency programs, including the Oku-Noto Triennale, the Unmanned Station Art Festival, Oigawa, the Nakanojo Biennale, the Gero Art Discovery, and the Akiyoshidai International Art Village. He has produced an extensive range of collaborative projects with his wife, the fairy‑tale writer and poet Kimikimiyo.
