From my photographic studies in Decorative
Arts of Paris university and from my profession within publishing
(drawing up book covers and mastering the computer image) for twenty years, I
first developed my artistic approach and pictorial (from 2004)
spontaneously towards digital creation.
In a first stage, it was the
celebration of the splendour of our nature: from my personal photographs
(whose main theme is nature, plants, and minerals) my computer work allows me to redefine light,
contrast, transparency and color. I created a new interpretation of our world
(composition made in photo print and framed in plexiglas).
In a second stage, I continued my
work in digital art, especially on the theme of rust (rusted or painted sheet
metal frames).
Then my research led me to approach
the world of painting which requires another form of energy, of involvement.
This has led me to evolve into the
nature of my themes: from 2006, I painted
«Les Masques» series inspired by the work of the sculptor
Thierry Carliez and the purity of Cistercian architecture. In those I take a
look at humanity and the yoke (symbolized by the cogs) that it weighs on itself
as well as on our extra-ordinary planet...
This series was exhibited at the Château de Larochette in
Luxembourg in 2009, in Aix-en-Provence in 2010, in Paris in 2011 and in 2015 at
the Abbey of Silvacane in La Roque d'Anthéron.
In 2011, a new phase led me to
brownfield sites, where I discovered places neglected by the consumerist spiral
that will be the source of paintings and digital creations…
Then my
inspiration came back to the essential, the primordial: the Forest and Nature,
which will be the subject of an exhibition in Aix-en-Provence in 2017.
End of 2017, I discovered charcoal and black stone…
Since then, Nature always amazes me. I also make portraits
(drawing or painting), architectural elements (stairs that go up… or down!),
always trying to capture the essence of our perception…
I have exhibited these different
themes in various places like :
Paris, Saint-Tropez, Ménerbes, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille in France,
Bastogne and Brussels in Belgium, Château de Larochette in Luxembourg, Montreux
in Switzerland, New-York in US…
