Yuwen Huang (b. 1997, Shenzhen, China) is a media artist who holds an MFA in Art & Technology / Sound Practice at
the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her current focus lies at the
intersection of blockchain technology and art, creating a critical dialogue to
foster inclusivity and accessibility within the digital age art community. In
2019, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Intermedia Art from China Academy of
Art (CAA), and her work has been longlisted for the Lumen Prize (UK) in the
Crypto category in 2023. She has exhibited in China and the United States
including: Shenzhen Art Museum (2019), Yunnan Art Museum (2020/21), Hubei
Museum of Art (2020), and the Hyundai Blue Prize Exhibition in Beijing (2020).
Most recently, her blockchain artwork was selected for inclusion in the 2024 Ars Electronica
Festival and was presented in the New Media Caucus Showcase 2024 at the College
Art Association conference. As an emerging curator, 21st Century Wanderer
which investigates the intersection of technology and walking was selected by
the Chicago Art Department for an exhibition in Fall 2024.
