I create acrylic paintings emphasising movement, colour, contrast and patterns to explore otherwise unseen energetic aspects of human experiences and the world around us. My approach centres around understanding art as an energy exchange. The energy used in the expression and creation of the art itself and the energy of the viewer during the experience of the finished artwork. Foremost, I strive for my art to create moments of connection, harmony and reflection. My background in engineering gave me an understanding of forces that shape the universe which I’m interested in representing through abstract shapes to explore connections between the metaphysical world and humanity. I’m also influenced by my recent education in lighting design and I’m excited to continue experimenting using light as an expression of unseen energies. Hilma af Klint, Yayoi Kusama and Carl Jung are some of the artists and philosophers from which I draw inspiration.
I’m an artist and lighting designer currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark. I grew up in Sydney and later lived around Australia working as a civil engineer in the Royal Australian Air Force. Engineering was a rewarding experience that provided an invaluable base of knowledge but I know that my true passion lies in art and creativity. With my enthusiasm for art and design and being brought up with both Australian and Greek culture I had a lifelong dream to live in Europe and, in 2020, I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark to study a masters in lighting design. Having now graduated I'm focused on developing my artistic practice.
