Born in Hanoi in 1980, Phan Hien, Vietnamese Singaporean oil painting
artist, had five years practicing fine-arts as one of major subjects in
Hanoi Architectural university. During her study, she had commissioned
multiple oil paintings taking reference from Japanese wood block art.
She also had fifteen years professional career in architecture and
construction development in Vietnam and Singapore after graduation.
In 2019, Phan Hien has been concentrating on Oil paintings with focus
on realistic techniques. Her regular subjects are natural and still-life
objects under influence of light. Different lighting conditions are
rendered to illustrate the sense of space and to inspire the appreciation
of nature. Her works often have simplified compositions using limited
palette to establish the harmony between the tranquility feeling of
traditional Asian paintings and the detail of contemporary realism. Her
artworks strive to evoke peacefulness and refreshing feeling of
audiences. Her latest art pieces showing the stillness of objects and
refine consensus of space which would attract audience’s attention
from both near and far.
