Tina Hellblom-Thibblin is a visual artist who primarily works with oil on canvas. She grew up in Västerås, Sweden, where she currently lives. She studied art theory and pedagogy at Uppsala University, where she later earned a Doctor of Philosophy. The inspiration for her paintings came, among other things, from trips to Italy and France, where she was captivated by the mural paintings. Her interest in painting emerged at an early age and has always been an ongoing activity.
Tina blends many concepts into her artistry, among them: Tensions between the imaginary and the concrete, and between dream and reality. Identity and relationships are incorporated into her paintings based on the surprising and the unpredictable. Spontaneity and the unfinished are also central to many of her works, and the intangible can be understood as the foundation for emotional experiences. There is also a particular focus on contrasts and the invisible.
Tina’s paintings have been shown in both solo and group exhibitions in Sweden as well as in numerous group exhibitions in Europe and USA. She has received several international awards for her artistry in recent times and is published in various international books on contemporary art.
