Harold Hermann has an atypical artistic background. A 44-year-old Parisian, he began photography as a teenager, attracted by the operation and mechanism of reflex cameras, which he liked to disassemble and understand down to the slightest technical possibility. The eruption of the digital technology temporarily overcame this burgeoning passion. He then turned to medical studies to become an anesthetist, while pursuing an activity as an actor, author and director with his theater company, which performed about fifteen shows annually for 15 years. Harold is by the way the author of three plays performed in Paris between 2016 and 2019. At the same time, he attended training sessions in two prestigious Parisian sculpture workshops, Atelier Villa d'Alésia and Atelier Marc Antoine.
His passion for cinema and philosophy leads him to take up photography again - this time using digital camera - to reflect the thoughts that animate him. His work is, above all, an exploration of the humanity, of its affects and the meaning it gives to the existence. Harold began staging photography in 2020 with the intimate series “A CORPS ECRITS” then, in a truly unique large-format project, the series “LIBERTE-EGALITE-FRATERNITE” and “AMOUR” in 2021 in which the search for beauty is accompanied by symbolism, poetry and hidden meanings that can be gradually discovered.
