Elena Guerreschi's path is to be counted in the atypical category: trained as a construction engineer and Project Manager between the Universities of Bologna and Verona, Elena later embarked on the path of freelance that led her to deal with both architectural design and design, that of the family business. It is within the latter that she approaches the world of art, as she is responsible for the development of some cultural concepts: her background marked by engineering and design has made her particularly sensitive to material, conceptual and procedures of artistic creation. After having experimented, in the initial phase, with fabrics and metals, the Artist has chosen epoxy resin as his preferred medium: this material requires, in addition to a clear definition of the starting concept, considerable attention and equally pragmatism. The purely conceptual aspect of Guerreschi's work finds its foundations for reflection in the structure, understood as both physical and mental space: the Circlemap and Layer-Landscape into material lines series are a fitting example of this as they aim to map, and then concretize, an interior interstice. Light also plays a significant role within Guerreschi's production: the particular color and transparency of the epoxy resin favor the free circulation of light and lead the observer to discover multiple visual paths.
