Samuelle was raised in rural Pennsylvania and attended Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Parsons School of Design in New York. After graduation she continued to live and work in Brooklyn, NY for 18 years before relocating to her hometown in Pennsylvania where she continues to develop her paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations. Her work has always been multidisciplinary, but the subject has long focused on natures interaction with the human made word. Samuelle‘s work is strongly based on the idea that there is structure and detail inherent in nature which we often borrow from and take for granted. She’s always interested in the details we pass by every day and often do not give a second thought to: a beehive, a birds nest, or the spider web on the dusty, discarded, broken furniture in the corner of an old barn. She utilizes discarded materials and those bound for recycling to create installations that give them a new life.
