Mathieu Gorelli, born in 1999, is a conceptual artist from Aosta Valley whose work focuses primarily on hyperrealistic pencil drawing. Entirely self-taught, he began his artistic journey in 2018 as a means of expressing emotions and inner experiences.
Over time, Gorelli explored a range of techniques, including painting, watercolor, and digital illustration, before ultimately dedicating himself to graphite, drawn by its simplicity and expressive depth. A significant influence on his artistic path has been Jono Dry, a hyperrealist and surrealist artist who inspired Gorelli’s first hyperrealistic piece: “Solitude II”.
Throughout his career, Gorelli has exhibited his work in numerous group exhibitions organized by the Aosta Valley Artists Association, as well as in two solo shows held at the Church of San Grato in Aosta and at the castle of Saint-Rhémy-en-Bosses, thanks to Alessandro Parrella.
In 2025, his work began gaining recognition beyond his region. He exhibited in Turin with the Artàporter association, in Venice during the YICCA Prize, and in Milan, where he was selected as a finalist for the Premio Arte.
His artworks have also been displayed at the Saint-Barthélemy Astronomical Observatory and featured in Arte magazine (September, October, and November issues). Alongside his artistic production, Gorelli actively collaborates with municipalities and local associations, contributing to courses, cultural initiatives, and mural projects throughout the Aosta Valley.
