Born in 1997 in Taiwan, Hao-Min Huang is an artist specializing in interactive, kinetic, and multimedia art. He holds a degree from the Institute of Technology and Art at National Tsing Hua University and has developed his creative practice through an interdisciplinary background and ongoing exploration of new media art. His work integrates technology and artistic expression, exploring innovative ways of communication. His artistic practice spans creative coding, kinetic mechanisms, virtual reality, and spatial installations, aiming to investigate the relationship between visual perception, physical experience, and spatial awareness, while also reflecting on the state of human existence.
Influenced by the Maker Movement, he adopts a hands-on approach, repurposing technological objects and experimenting with diverse materials. His creative process is not only a form of technological redesign but also a reconsideration of everyday objects, allowing his work to reveal new narratives and perceptual experiences within existing technological frameworks. His installations go beyond mere mechanical movement or algorithmic control—they raise questions about the relationship between humans and technology, as well as humans and their environment.
Additionally, he is particularly interested in the interaction between virtual and physical realities, experimenting with the fusion of VR, kinetic sculptures, and sound installations to create immersive experiences. Through bodily engagement, his work invites audiences to step into an altered reality, exploring spaces beyond the physical world. Rather than focusing solely on technology, his art examines how technology shapes human perception and understanding of the world, expanding the possibilities of imagination. Striking a balance between precision and emotion, his work employs technical rigor to construct poetic artistic experiences, showcasing his unique perspective and creative philosophy.
