Throughout Kayla’s life she had been doing art. She has a lot of artists throughout her family who either work for studios or work for the LDS Church or as freelance artists. Though it was her grandmother who was the one that introduced her to the art world. She wasn’t a professional but she did do a lot of oil paintings of temples for family members or landscaping. Kayla loved to watch her paint and would sometimes join in and paint with her. Then Kayla’s father gave her a camera and that set her on the path of becoming an artist. She did art whenever she got a chance and at all the family gatherings, Kayla would be the one taking the photos. It was were she liked to be at instead of getting her picture taken. Kayla started her journey as a photographer at Snow College. While there she took other classes in art and started to lean more toward drawing and sculpting. When she moved onto Southern Utah University she meet two professors who encouraged her to move her sights to 3D Illustration for character modeling.
