Federica Gemma, aka June Gemma, was born in Galatina in the province of Lecce on March 9, 1985. Since childhood they show a strong propensity for art that is initially expressed in poetic writing and traditional pictorial art. They studied at the scientific high school De Giorgi in Lecce for 3 years, and then graduated from the psycho-pedagogical high school Pietro Siciliani in Lecce in 2004.
Later they enrolled at the Dams of Roma Tre where they studied for three years. Although they had already studied the main graphics programs at the self-taught level, in 2022 they decided to enroll in the graphic design course of the Volta Institute to obtain the professional qualification that arrives in 2023. Through self-taught graphic studies since 2015 they has created countless artistic collages and concept albums of musical artists that they publishes online on their Instagram account M_A_G_I_C_B_O_X, until the first real collaborations with some international and Italian musicians arrive. In particular, they realize all the album covers on Spotify of the artist Alessandra Falconieri (aka Aria Falco), participant of the first edition of X Factor Italia and finalist of Musicultura in the edition directed by Fabrizio Frizzi. They also collaborate with the poet Tiziana Quarta designing the illustrations for one of her poetic collections, currently still unpublished. In 2021 they created the cover of a book in paper version, a science fiction story entitled "A new beginning", written by Andrea Zanetti and published by Krismia editore.
Later they also approached watercolor painting, especially the wet watercolor style that is sometimes embellished with material elements used symbolically or coloristically.
In 2022 one of their illustrations is exhibited at the Espace Art Gallery in Brussels. In the same year their artistic language expands to land art and site-specific installations, whose creations focus in particular on the difficult relationship between human beings and Nature. In doing so, an expressive language is used rich in natural materials such as paper, ropes, leaves, pigments and various resins, combined with elements of the human, anatomical and technological fields. From 7 to 21 June 2024 one of their sculptures was exhibited in the Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello in Venice on the occasion of the exhibition "Anima Mundi - Visions" curated by Itsliquidgroup.
