The Giddy Gamerz

We are the Giddy Gamerz. We are 3 siblings aged 11, 9 and 4, who set up our own YouTube channel during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Our aim was to connect with our school friends, because school was locked down and everybody was so scared and worried and we all missed our classmates and friends so so much.

Our channel is art to us; digital art. It does what art can do; it uplifts people and makes them smile. It transports them to another place and connects people. That to us is art. 

We want to be ambassadors for digital art, and as digital creatives, we see our YouTube channel as our art gallery; a place where friends can gather to share a moment or an experience through a digital, visual and sonic experience.

Yes we are small, but we believe what Greta Thunberg said when she said "No One Is Too Small To Make A Difference". Our friends have told us that our digital channel made a difference to them in lockdown and continues to help them through this second lockdown.

We know from a creative perspective that when we make our videos we already feel connected to our audience.

We talk, edit, create and share with our friends in mind. We are artists and we know our audience.

Although it may seem bold to try to stand alongside the artistic genius showcased at Arte Laguna, we are encouraged by a recent "Arts Award" that we won here in the UK. The competition was run by a young people's magazine called The Voice (@voicemaguk) in association with the 15th Birthday of the prestigious 'Arts Award'. We were competing against painters, teachers, dancers and filmmakers of all ages from across the UK and today (24th November 2020) we discovered that we have won the first prize.

We are proud to be ambassadors for digital art and gaming in the Arts and we are ready to show this in the big wide world.
