Born in Catamarca, northern Argentina, Nicolás Galarza is Manteca, a multidisciplinary artist specialising in juggling and clowning.
He trained in physical theatre and clowning with Guillermo Angelelli and Sandra Pasini of Odin Teatret and Gabriel Chamé Buendía among others. He studied mime-theatre with Roberto Escobar and Igón Lerchundi, disciples of Étiene Decroux and masks with Marcelo Savignone based on the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq. He completed his training studying contemporary dance with Lucas Condró, classical dance and barre à terre with Liliana Cepeda.
He was part of different circus and theatre companies. He has given seminars on physical theatre, mime theatre and juggling at circus festivals and conventions in different countries.
Always active, with an intense personal search for his own original work, he has been travelling for more than 10 years with his shows, using the universal language of gesture to reach all corners of the world.
