Every detail matters. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Gabi Gelli, 23, overflows with sensitivity. When she was a teenager, she discovered a heart condition that changed her life. The youngest in a family of creatives, Gabi managed to resignify her trauma through art, in an intuitive and unpretentious way. Because of this trauma she created the scars project - Instante para sempre (Instant forever )- to help others to resignify their pains. In her desire to get to know the human being, she turns her personal views into the starting point of every process and afterwards it acquires a more general and holistic reach. Her work, so to speak, is a great tool of self-knowledge, and because of that it carries truth.
Her first exhibition, Cura (Heal), explores the trajectory of the trauma until its resignification. Gabi uses the experience of the trauma to lecture companies such as the hospital chain Rede DʼOr and Genomma Lab, maker of scarsʼ gel Cicatricure on how to overcome personal difficulties. In March 2019, she had her first solo show - Entretempo (Between Time) at Bianca Boeckel Gallery in São Paulo. She has also participated in 2019 SP-Arte (São Paulo International Art Festival) and SP-Foto (São Paulo Photo Fair).
