Diana Frankovic (18.12.79) is a Berlin-based award-winning filmmaker from Germany. For 14 years she has also been working as a radio host for public service broadcasters (ARD) operating in Germany and reported from around the world, such as Asia, South America and Australia. Her first Art House documentary “The Sad Monk” received 20 awards from international film and art festivals, such as „Best Documentary“ at Roma Creative Contest 2016 in Italy, the Van Gogh Award for World Directing at Amsterdam Film Festival 2017 and was nominated for the China Academy Awards for Documentary Film. So far her debut film was screened in more than 35 countries.Diana Frankovic received a scholarship of the IJP Asia Pacific Programme in China/Hongkong in 2015 and 2017. She completed her MA in English philology, political science and journalism at the Freie University Berlin and London. When it comes to her artistic work she focuses on spirituality connected to time and space and Asia. What inspires her most are people and music from different cultures.
