Juan Carlos Parellada Fortuny (alias Parellada Art, Vic, 1966) is a multidisciplinary artist. Until the age of nineteen he devoted himself to visual arts and photography. Later he pursued a long career in music and lutherie, with more than thirty-five years of experience in building and repairing string instruments.
His return to visual art is not a beginning but the continuity of that first creative impulse, now transformed into a research on memory, fracture, and the passage of time. His works combine raw materials — plaster, sands, wood, natural fibers, pigments — with a direct and poetic visual language.
He is also the author of a literary trilogy that explores human fragility and existential irony.
He currently lives and works in Vic, Spain.
