ROSARIO FORTE
I was born in Campobasso, Italy, on September 11, 1966.
I studied at the Faculty of Architecture in Pescara, where I graduated with a degree in Environmental Design.
After gaining various professional experiences in Campobasso, including the design of a jewelry and ethnic goods store, I moved to Arezzo, where I have been working for over twenty years for a prestigious luxury brand.
I have always been passionate about photography and painting, and about fifteen years ago I began creating my first artwork.
Abstract Expressionism has been the artistic movement that has guided me throughout this journey. Alberto Burri, Mark Rothko, and Barnett Newman are just some of the artists whose work has fascinated and inspired me over the years.
My work ranges from the use of traditional painting materials, primarily enamel and tempera, to the incorporation of a wide variety of materials and supports.
The essence of my work can be summed up by a famous statement from Mark Rothko: "A painting is not a picture of an experience; it is an experience." The viewer becomes immersed in the artwork, experiencing the visual and physical impact of color, which gives rise to emotion.
In my paintings, the combination of colors and materials invites viewers to engage with the work, leading them through a continuous sequence of emotional responses.
In May 2025, my artwork “Linea” (Line) was exhibited in an International group exhibition of Contemporary art at Galleria Margutta in Rome.
In February 2026, I participated in the Foiano della Chiana Painting Biennial (Arezzo) with my work “Il Carnevale” (The Carnival), held in conjunction with the town's historic Carnival celebrations.
In April 2026, I was selected as one of the sixty finalists for the Mestre Painting Prize with my artwork “Vertically” and subsequently took part in the finalists' exhibition at the newly renovated MUVEC – Museum of Contemporary Art (Casa della Contemporaneità) in Mestre.

Sono nato a Campobasso l’11 settembre 1966.
Ho studiato a Pescara presso la Facoltà di Architettura dove mi sono laureato con una tesi in Progettazione Ambientale.
Dopo varie esperienze lavorative nel capoluogo molisano, tra cui la progettazione di un negozio di articoli di gioielleria e multietnici, mi trasferisco ad Arezzo, dove da più di venti anni lavoro per un rinomato brand di lusso.
Sono sempre stato appassionato di fotografia e di pittura ed è da circa quindici anni che ho incominciato a realizzare le mie prime opere pittoriche.
L’Espressionismo Astratto è stata la corrente artistica che mi ha guidato in questo percorso. Burri, Rothko, Newman sono solo alcuni degli artisti che durante questi anni mi hanno affascinato ed ispirato.
Le mie opere spaziano dall’utilizzo della semplice materia pittorica, principalmente smalto e tempera, all’utilizzo di materiali e supporti di vario genere.
L’essenza delle mie opere si può racchiudere in una frase del celebre Mark Rothko che diceva: “Un dipinto non è un'immagine di un'esperienza, è un'esperienza “. L’osservatore si immerge nell’opera pittorica e ne subisce l’impatto visivo e fisico del colore, generando un’emozione.
Nelle mie opere, la combinazione dei colori e dei materiali interrogano e coinvolgono l’osservatore in un susseguirsi di emozioni.
A maggio 2025 ho esposto una mia opera “Linea” in una mostra collettiva internazionale di arte contemporanea presso la Galleria Margutta di Roma.
A febbraio 2026 ho partecipato alla Biennale di Pittura di Foiano della Chiana (AR) con l’opera “Il Carnevale” in occasione dello storico carnevale.
Ad aprile 2026 sono stato selezionato tra i sessanta finalisti del Premio Mestre di Pittura con l’opera “Vertically” ed ho quindi partecipato alla mostra dei finalisti presso il rinnovato museo di arte contemporanea MUVEC (Casa della Contemporaneità) a Mestre
