I have been painting for over forty years. I usually paint in oils as I like the result of the colour upon the canvas to evoke what I am looking at or conveying. I have usually painted plien air but happily take to just putting certain unusual colours beside one another. I see in the real world to see how they relate to each other. What is interesting to me is seeing the myriad of colour subtleties in the real landscape based on ever changing light in different parts of the world and seasons. It is a life time observation. I love the mythology of place and the history of place.
I have shown over the years on my small island of Hornby but have had a gallery representing me on Salt Spring Island " The Duthie Gallery " and now am represented by the "Peninsula Gallery', in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada. info@pengal.com
