Fernando Couto de Magalhães is a self-taught Brazilian artist who uses realism techniques in his drawings and simple materials (such as regular Faber Castell pencils) to portray important characters in History. Passionate about anthropological studies, he migrated from the Advertising and Marketing field to Humanities.
Currently (2020), Fernando is a specialist in Human Sciences - History, Philosophy and Sociology from PUC University (Pontifícia Universidade Católica) with professional certificates in Cultural and Social Anthropology (University of Queensland, Australia), Egyptian Archeology (HarvardX), and Methods of Historical Observation (HarvardX). In 2017, he was invited to his first international exhibition in Orlando, Florida, and in 2018, he was nominated for the Focus Brazil Award as Artist of the Year.
Fernando is also the founder of PROJETO VOLUNTÁRIO HERÓI, a charity organization that brings groups of volunteers dressed as super heroes with donations of clothes, toys, and money to public hospitals and child cancer institutions in the city of São Paulo.
