Multidisciplinary artist who combines the financial world with painting and music. She works with various techniques, such as Indian ink, watercolor and acrylic. She does painting, illustration, urban sketching and drawing work.
She has combined the studies in Higher Degree Artistic Illustration at the Escola d'Arts Pau Gargallo and the Escola de Belles Arts de Lleida, with the studies in Management and Public Administration, Master in Economic and Financial Management, Master in Digital Marketing and Executive MBA.
After a long period of artistic inactivity, which for professional reasons kept her away from the world of the plastic arts, she has resumed her pictorial career with the strength that characterizes her personal brushstroke.
The art of Maite Farreres is the perfect combination of innate talent, solid academic background and an incessant inspiration, with the desire to experience new frontiers in her work.
After a first period in which he explored acrylic with a brushstroke of neo-impressionist influence, she currently focuses her work on watercolor combined with India ink.
Her technique, casual and spontaneous at first glance, can only be the result of extraordinary skill with the brush, since it allows her to draw the sketch directly in India ink, without preparation or guidelines for proportions or perspectives. For all these reasons, Maite's works are essentially fresh, eased, leaving the viewer the possibility of imaginatively completing the lines of the drawing, thus personalizing the contemplation of the painting.
With an unlimited color palette, Maite chooses the most appropriate for each environment, without renouncing to include the reserve as one more line of her painting.
Her creative practice has evolved from the urban landscape, with special emphasis on architectural design, to the generation of environments where the protagonism of the characters is shared with the daily scene of streets, squares or cafes.
As a passionate traveler, Maite never stops finding inspiration in the environments she frequents, which she then takes to the studio to capture in her work.
