Philippe Farcy learns technical drawing in high school in the scientific sector ( it is a codified discipline requiring great rigor) but really begins to draw "freely" late at the age of twenty-three, he already has several years of practice in various artistic universes such as music, theater and is particularly interested in graphic design and comics.
Barely seven years after his first sketch, at just thirty years old, Philippe has become a press illustrator for 5 specialized magazines totaling more than 450,000 loyal monthly readers and has already published three comic books on his own (he will produce and publish nearly fifteen comics books between 2004 and 2012) and made nearly 35,000 sketches, drawings and inks.
But it was in 2006, at the School of Fine Arts in Compiègne, that he took his first nude drawing course in order to improve his skills, it would be a profound upheaval for him. There he discovers anatomy and the true meaning of art. This budding passion for this discipline pushes him to gradually abandon his illustration work to devote himself totally to art drawing and painting...
As you will have understood, Philippe is a complete artist and it is sculpture, which he began even later at the age of 43, which best reflects his personality and this "touch to everything" side of art. " which characterizes him.
His work, the result of many years of practice and the mixing of different styles, techniques and materials, borrowed from great energy, influenced by classical and contemporary arts, persists in representing bodies in dynamic, contrasting and varied.
A dynamic reading of his artwork and a unique graphic style give his works a real contemporary and modern dimension with deep classical roots thus opposing traditional representations which limit themselves to imitating nature.
