Debra Espinosa is a renowned visual artist with extensive experience in international urban art and illustration. Illicitan by origin and based in Catalonia, Debra began her artistic career in theater scenography, specializing in the prestigious school of Institut del Teatre.
Although she decided to leave scenography more than a decade ago, her talent and creative skills have led her to work on multidisciplinary and complex projects, where she has tackled important themes such as abuse, sexuality, and historical memory. Her work has been exhibited and participated in important urban art festivals in cities around the world, such as London, Bogotá, Bologna, Munich, and Barcelona.
With a Master’s degree in Urban Design from the University of Barcelona, Debra has worked as a mentor and illustrator in the international collective Microgalleries, where she has contributed to use urban art as a tool for social and political change.
Additionally, her commitment to female creativity has led her to actively participate in the collectives Artefakto and Women Power Skate Art.
Currently, Debra is mainly dedicated to mural painting and teaching at Institut del Teatre
