ART
ENTR'ELLES is an art organization that encourages co-creation process and
produces multidisciplinary works presented in professional artistic contexts.
Its creations stimulate the exploration of artistic concepts and media, as well
as the engagement of its members and the public. It brings together women
formerly incarcerated, artists and social professionals, cultural and academic
spheres, to implement collaborative, non-hierarchical projects using community
art as a method of co-creation. Its works aim to change the public's perception
of legalization by addressing marginalization and poverty. Since it was
founded, Art Entr'Elles has produced nearly a dozen artistic projects, thanks
to the involvement of over a hundred people.
Art
Entr'Elles was created in 2009 by women survivors of prison. They defined it as
a collective of women artists who say NO to violence, NO to poverty, NO to
intolerance. They have placed community art at the heart of the collective's
artistic approach to create artworks imbued with social justice.
