ELENA BERTUZZI - Graduate of the C.N.S.M.D. of Paris in 1997, she studied dance in Italy, in France and in the USA, along with the studies of Political Sciences at the University of Turin. In 2011, she graduated with a Master’s degree in the Research in General Ethnology and Ethnomusicology at the University Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense. Since 1996, she teaches the analysis of movement, Kinetography Laban and Dance Ethnology at the University Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense and at the University Pascal Blaise of Clermont-Ferrand. Since 1980, she participates as a performer, choreographer and choreographer’s assistant in many productions in Italy and in France. In 1988, together with Cie Timdomè she is an award-winner at the Contest of The Festival d’Orléans. She transcribed in scores and reconstructed many pieces of
the repertoire. She leads educational projects about the use of Kinetography Laban in teaching dance for different audiences. She uses the Kinetography in ethnographic research of dance. Her passion for documentary films and her studies.
LAURE CHATREFOU - With a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology and a background in contemporary dance, Laure Chatrefou finds inspiration in documentary research to create multimedia works of art. For the past 5 years, she is involved in the process of promoting identities from France and from its overseas territories. She creates immersive installations, sound pieces and films that contribute to the outreach of the cultural practices emblematic for those territories. (Debaa, danced and singed soufi of the women from Mayotte - Touloulou, queens of the masked balls of the Carnival in French Guiana - Fon ker, Creole poetry from Reunion.) She exposes her work at popular arts and traditions, ethnography and history museums in France, in Belgium and in Overseas France (Institut du monde arabe - Paris, Musée de l’histoire et de
l’immigration - Paris, Musée du bagne - Guyane, The International Carnival and Mask Museum - Belgium). She also produced several
radio documentaries for Arte Radio.
