Michaela
Richardson was born in Germany and now lives in Austria.
She is one
of the few European artists who have mastered the ancient technique of wax
painting, "Encaustic", which dates back to the Egyptians and involves
burning hot wax with pigments into a wooden surface. The artist combines
Encaustic with contemporary digital fine art photography. Her two- and
three-dimensional artwork spans antiquity and modernity, creating aesthetic
modern pieces with extraordinary depth and unique style.
Richardson,
who also holds a Ph.D. in psychology, has exhibited nationally and
internationally in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
