Dominique DORLA is a creol french
artist, born in St Paul Reunion in 1973, artist name is 'DORLA'. She
did several individual and group exhibitions since 2010 and is
currently an officially rated artist painter. After visiting most
famous european art museums and travelling on neighbouring islands
and countries in east african area, she's been led to concieve an
androgynous and multiple faceless character who is pretext to revisit
or interpret as well as famous classic masterpieces than varied creol realities of
her island. This round pattern she called 'Yaya' can be found in most
of her actual works and is kind of her own signature. Her medium of
preference is oil on canvas, plywood sometimes. She uses numerous
styles and techniques, unlikely compositions inspired by varied
topics or famous artists paintings, explores lots of graphic
questions sutch as shape and background, monochromatic palette,
juxtaposed colors, plays with anachronisms. Her multiple ways to
flirt with totally diferent registers from classicism to pop or
street art don't help to classify her work in a clearly defined
artistic stream.
