Shirin Divanbeigi is a multidisciplinary artist and educator originally from Iran committed to women’s issues. She earned her MA in marketing from Sorbonne University in Paris (2004) and has a certificate in Visual Arts from Central Technical School in Toronto (2012). Her works have been included in the John B. Aird Gallery, Latcham Gallery, the Venice Arsenale, and Toronto Nuit Blanche. Divanbeigi currently lives in Toronto where she works in the Education Department of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Aga Khan Museum and Alliance Francaise. Presently, Divanbeigi is experimenting with needle felting mini sculptures. Her current project, for which she received an Ontario Art Council project grant, is to turn these mini sculptures into a short stop-motion animation.
