Nicolaus Dinter (*1965, Germany) is a German artist whose work explores the human figure as a meeting point of vulnerability, strength, identity and human connection.
With a background in graphic design, photography and psychology, Dinter has developed an artistic language that combines figurative representation with symbolic and cultural references. His works often examine the relationship between body and identity, protection and vulnerability, freedom and belonging.
Rather than illustrating fixed roles, Dinter uses archetypal images to explore the tensions between them. The female figure, for example, can embody both vulnerability and resilience, the guardian and the warrior, while partnership is understood as standing beside one another — not above or below.
His work has been presented in exhibitions and art projects in Germany and internationally, including Italy, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands, as well as at international art fairs and exhibitions in Florence, Venice, Cannes, Rotterdam and Paris.
Dinter lives and works in Germany.
