Born in 1965 in Le Creusot, it is the values and work of builders since adolescence that attracts me, I turn to wood and especially cabinetmaking where after the school of Autun, in 1981, CAP in pocket, I discover the amazing and particular world of furniture restoration that shakes the ideas I had made of production.
And there, for 20 years, I learn from the ingenuity, sensitivity, and beauty of the achievements of our forefathers.
During these years I participated in 1982 in the evening ceramic classes of the Fine Arts of Chalon sur Saône and in drawing classes in 1988 to feel more comfortable with the fast sketch.
In 1990 in Champforgeuil, at my first exhibition, I presented some figurative paintings and sculptures as well as my masterpiece, a miniature walnut cabinet.
Married the same year, it was in 1992 that we acquired a stone ruin, which I restored for three years before the installation of our growing family.
It was in 1996 that I began to realize the «Diaposaurus», my first creative push that will exceed 1000 hours of work. Completed and presented in 1998, the work exhibited at the European Gallery of Forest and Wood in the summer of 2003 attracted over 15,000 visitors.
It is by transforming the staves of old barrels in 1999, vestiges of my grandparents winegrowers, that my «Barrel metamorphosis» is born. So little equipped it is with an electric plane that I make my first blanks adjusted to the varlope and with the help of my manual tools, that I adapt to this new mode of construction.
Then I moved to my new studio in 2001 and realized the «Trophées du Net 2001» organized by PME 71 and the Journal de Saône et Loire.
I participated the same year in the Symposium organized by the General Council of Saône et Loire at the «Galerie Européenne du Bois et de la Forêt» sculpting the «Foetus vegetal» a limestone block. The following year I repeat the experiment with «Le cri de l'Orme», a marble of elm carved 2.20 meters. The opportunity makes me try the interior design, by realizing in 2003 the beer bar of «La Billebaude» in Givry. In parallel, I participate in the European competition «Autour de Bacchus» and I receive the «Grand Prix International de la Créativité 2002/2003» in Florence with the armchair «Dionysos».
Forced to stop my installation in 2007 I became a wood workshop instructor in an ESAT in Crissey to manage the production and support of people with disabilities, while continuing my research.
It is therefore since February 2023 that I leave my creative hermitage as artist author by presenting again my work.
