Being a doctor of philosophy, painter and architect, I work in these three fields, where I have investigated urban space for many years; the magic ether between buildings. I am influenced by light, history, events, materials, and various human movements in space, as well as by buildings in urban contexts. I apply ancient glazing techniques (multiple transparent layers) which gives my works a rare technical niche. Similar to an anatomical illustrator, I seek to explain and understand spaces and structures; I frequently adjust perspectives and sometimes reconstruct disappeared buildings. I add surrealistic and subconscious features as well as urban historic events in my paintings in order to create individual story telling. When starting a painting, I pursue thorough studies of light and building materials in the selected area I have visited. Purportedly, as a support for catalyzing story-telling I have chosen motives of well-known cities of Europe, which I suggest have a significant underlying communicative meaning for the spectator. I am currently preparing a semi-scientific book in the field as well, with the working title:Philosophic Daydreams and Meditations on Art, Architecture and More…l
