I’m Cindy de Graaff. An artist from the
Netherlands. When I graduated as an
illustrator I soon realised that I’d rather would do fine arts. I started
painting and developing my own style. In the next years I applied for
residencies and was lucky enough to get selected. In Virginia (USA) and Newfoundland
(Canada). I had several exhibitions in the Netherlands and Spain but not enough
sales to earn a living.
I started teaching art and I met my husband.
Family life came before arts at that time and we had three children. Our
youngest has Down syndrome so her physical and mental health took some years before
we arrived in calmer waters. I still teach art to children and adults.
Because I missed my art and creative
expression so much I started to create again. But painting wasn’t fitting
anymore. I turned to collage, old fashion cutting and pasting and I loved it. I
sent some works in for an open call and started to exhibit my collages in the
Netherlands and got invited to a gallery in Berlin (Germany). Currently working on establishing a name in the european artworld.
