Leonardo Dal Bo Lo Porto is an Italian artist and filmmaker based in Marseille. His background is rooted in graffiti and through
film, sculpture, and painting his work explores the impact of time on anthropic products such as urbanization, modern ruin and imagery
insistence - elements that although caused by us, often elude our awareness.
"The iconography of images, the connotation of words and the collective memory of places: in art, everything evokes meaning and for each person it changes according to personal experience. Everyone sees in the same way but we all observe differently.
The stranger frightens and fear paralyzes; I row against the reactionary impulse. Comfort breeds laziness and inertia immobilizes; I row against claimed progressivism, yet indisposed to act. I believe in the deconstruction-construction of thought as revolutionary processes of society. I don't formulate technical solutions, my battle is to think differently, and my tool is imagination."
He completed undergraduate studies at
the École de Beaux Arts de Marseille and the European Film College. His
work has been exhibited at Arts Éphémerès (FR), Art City (IT), Galleria
Taller Goria (CUBA), MUJAM (MX), Sotto Le Stelle Del Cinema festival
(IT).
