Paulina Dąbrowska-Dorożyńska (b. 1967, Kraków) is a Polish painter and designer whose work moves fluidly between fine art and applied visual culture. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, she emerged from a background in visual communication that continues to shape her painterly language.
Her art is defined by clarity of composition, rhythmic structure, and a pronounced decorative sensibility. Drawing on the discipline of graphic design, she constructs luminous, ornamentally rich surfaces in which colour functions both emotionally and structurally. Beauty, harmony, and visual pleasure remain central to her artistic credo.
Deeply rooted in Kraków’s cultural heritage, her early cycles engaged with local traditions and sacred aesthetics. Over time, her work evolved toward spiritual and metaphysical reflection, most notably in her angel cycles, while later series introduced themes of intercultural dialogue with Jewish, Tatar, Polish Highlander, Australian Aboriginal cultures, and Mediterranean vitality.
Across painting, print, and textile, Dąbrowska-Dorożyńska consistently affirms the expressive and uplifting potential of art, positioning decoration not as embellishment, but as a deliberate and thoughtful visual language.
