Maurizio Cristofolini, 54, Milan,
unrelenting traveler of half the world by sea and by land. Cristofolini lived
for an extended period of time in Iran and Northern Africa, where he worked for
a subsidiary of Eni and it was right there, in the Sahara desert, where his
passion for photography was born 1980). Always on the move, from Colombia to
Madagascar, from the Svalbard Islands to Tierra del Fuego, he has written and
published numerous articles in magazines and on travel websites. A passionate
sailor, since youth, he has sailed around the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Indian
Ocean and Australia, always with his camera slung over his shoulder in search
of the perfect light. After years of working in the world of finance,
Cristofolini entered television production occupying himself with sports,
entertainment, documentaries and news programs. He is a photographer out of
passion and not necessity, a minimalist in his technical choices, and is
partial to finishing his shots "in camera", using only the
bare-minimum post-production.
