Gian Mario Conti, painter, musiciam, performer, yoga teacher.
He was born in Clusone, a little village among Prealpi Orobiche, in Val Seriana, on the 25th of
April 1966.
During his vocational training he develops an aesthetics which joins in a sole conductor theread,
pictorial, musical and gestural language.
Starting from the 80's he took part to a large mumber of exhibitions in Italy:
" Tempo dell' Assenzio"( Wormwood Time), " Uomo codice a barre"(Mentre bar code),
"Crocifissioni" (Crocifixions), "Totem", " Nidi" (Nesta), and within the framework of his informal
and synesthetic research: " Tragitti"( Ways), " Bruciature" ( Burns), " Ciclo dei verdi" ( Cycle of
green), " Ciclo dei rossi" ( Cycle of reds), "Le sognanti" ( The dreamers)
Into these cycles he develops the dialogue among musical writing, gesture, and pictorial sing.
Gentle and restless soul, he loves describing himself living in an " Inhabited Loneliness".
His works express the sense.
The first thing that hits, by observing them, it is the white spaces where on can read the infinite
and the silence.
The " Inhabited Loneliness" where everyone, for fear of hearing It, fills it with excess.
His drawings are full of symbolism, and the spectator, as if in front of a mirror, projects his /her
own fears and emotions.
The Cycle of Blood, life/death joins ti the sense of purification and rebirth, where the essence of
life and the necessity of the contact with Nature, brings us back to the meaning of " Being" in a
society where " Having", and with it the excess, has taken place.
Gianmario Conti, musicista, performer, insegnante yoga.
