I have always been passionate about both photography and painting since I started my carreer, looking for that blurred border that would create a joint in between the two arts where they could talk to each other, contaminate each other and coexist united in a single space which could merge them into a single language to express history and narrative, reality and illusion.
I started my research by de-structuring photography in its descriptive side trying to make it more pictorial, so to create a point of view able to shift its sense from totally objective to fully subjective.
Up to my last work where photography merges with painting creating a dizziness that makes it difficult to separate the two arts so to maintain a subjective sense of interpretation.
My work is dedicated to themes where fiction becomes reality and vice versa, it explores the boundary between a fact and its perception and that sense of uncertainty which follows.
We are not only consumers of products but also consumers of images: icons and symbols are part of our culture and they are able to generate emotions because we are a “mashup” of everything we bring into our life. We are contaminated by every image, social network, book, culture, person, past and present events which touched our hearts, and we made them ours because in the promotional culture we are going through codes, stereotypes, icons and symbols to find a way out of the complexity of the world.
