Laura Colantonio's practice examines space by subdividing it into conceptual categories: continuous, perceived and discreet to investigate what is indeterminable, fragile and unconditional in those spaces. Exploring sensations and impressions in liminal situations leads to an overcoming of the logic "inside-out" and pushes Colantonio to seek direct experiences with the spaces and objects that inhabit them to determine the visible and invisible transformations on the surface.
Laura Colantonio (born in Rome) is an artist currently living in Milan. After graduating in Political Science from - La Sapienza - (Rome), she studied painting at the RUFA Academy (Rome). She attended several specialized courses in sculpture (Dubai 2013-2016) and visual arts (London 2015-2016). She is currently completing her MA in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at the NABA Academy (Milan). Among her most recent participations: Improvisation by Giuseppe Chiari, curated by Massimo Bartolini and Marco Scotini, Maxxi, Rome (2019); Swamp School of Nomeda and Gediminas Urbonas, Lithuanian Pavilion, Architecture Biennale Venice (2018); Occupy Walden, Milan (2018); Italian expressions, Lights Gallery, Dubai (2015) - receives an award for artistic research from the Italian consulate in Dubai (2015); Metamorphosis, Agorà Gallery, New York (2016); Peace, MIIT, Turin (2015).
