Italian-Mexican photographer and visual artist, her practice unfolds at the intersection of photography, visual arts, and experimental image-making. She approaches photography not merely as a representational device, but as a physical phenomenon, a material process, and an autonomous language. After graduating in Architecture, she earned an MA in Visual Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan and further deepened photography at IEFC (Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya) in Barcelona.
Her research investigates the nature of the photographic image through both analogue and digital processes, exploring the medium beyond its conventional uses. Working across camera-based and cameraless practices, she focuses on the direct action of light and the traces it leaves on photosensitive materials. Within her work, the image emerges as an event, a process of sedimentation, and a material manifestation in which light, time, and matter become active agents in a reflection on visibility and invisibility, presence and absence, perception and memory.
Combining technical experimentation with poetic inquiry, her practice challenges the boundaries of the photographic medium and expand its expressive possibilities. At the core of her research is an investigation into how light constructs the space of the image before it becomes representation.
Her work has been presented in international exhibitions, festivals, and artist residencies, and has received numerous awards. In 2015 she participated in the Artegiro Artist Residency in Casale Monferrato. Since 2016 she has been among the selected artists of the Fondo Malerba per la Fotografia (FMF) Archive, while her works have entered the permanent collection of MUSINF – Museum of Modern Art, Information and Photography in Senigallia. That same year she won 2015: Anno della Luce, organized by PHOS – Multifunctional Centre for Photography and Visual Arts. In 2017 she received the first prize at LAF 6 – Latin America Fotografía, organized by AI-AP; in 2018 she was selected among the Best 15 artists at Paratissima Torino and in 2022 she won the XIV Olot Photography Biennial (Spain). Her work has been published in Il corpo solitario, Volumes II and III, by art critic Giorgio Bonomi. In 2019 she was invited by MAXXI – National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome to lead workshops on cameraless photography and cyanotype.
