From
little things, big things grow.
Inspired by nature, Joice Cheung loves to observe the subtle things in life. Even if it
is little, after accumulation, it will gradually converge into a power that can
turn the situation around, like the power of a seed moving bunches of soil.
This, is the power of life.
Her works exude tenacious vitality, the inner drive for continual
transformation of life.
Started Chinese paintings at 5 and graduated
from the University of the Arts London, Joice Cheung transcends the boundaries
between timeless elegance of ancient Chinese calligraphy and the ethereal qualities
of Monet's Impressionism, by intertwining colour, space, light, and movement in
duality, with deliberate blank-leaving that symbolises boundless possibilities.
Calligraphic strokes are not merely lines,
they are imbued with artist's energy and intention, symbolizing the continuity
of cultural heritage. Complementing this, the influence of Monet’s
Impressionism brings a vibrant, dynamic quality to my work, evoking the
transient beauty of nature. By blending these distinct yet harmonious
techniques, I strive to promote art as a common language that transcends eras and
borders, to recognize our shared humanity and the timeless beauty that connects
us all, and as a fuel that propels the human history.
