CARLOTTA CERQUETTI (carlottacq@gmail.com) is a Filmmaker and photographer born in Rome, Italy. After graduating in classical studies, she took a photography class at Rome’s Istituto Europeo di Design while also working as an assistant in advertising photography. In New York City she became assistant to photographer Hiro. As a freelance photographer she specialized in portraits and reportage.
In 1994 she earned a Certificate in Filmmaking at New York University SCE.
She wrote and directed documentaries, videoclips and short films awarded at festivals worldwide. She was twice nominated to David di Donatello awards. Harry’s Bar premiered at Venice Film Festival and won the Open Prize and a Golden Ribbon Special Mention, Linfa premiered at Rome Cinema Fest and is now streaming on Prime. Ageroland won the Rossellini Prize and her short film Binari was selected by New York Film Festival to open the world premiere of “The People VS Larry Flynt” by Milos Forman.
She has been a member of the executive board of Women in Film Television & Media Italia.
