My name
is Álvaro Villamañán, I'm a self-taugh potter and woodfirer.
Throughout
my 8 years career I've developed a quite personal style of Kohiki pottery, in
wich I manufacture most of my utilitarian/daily use production.
I also
have a very basic Shino line, mostly for plates, ricebowls and teabowls.
I fire
all this pottery both in the gas kiln or in one of my two anagama kilns.
My
woodfired line is inspired by the Shigaraki and Iga ceramics.
I use a
very plastic, low iron stoneware to wich I add grain feldspar.
I make
both decorative (flower vases, big jars, spheres...) and small series of
utilitarian ceramics.
