Karou Calamy is a 24 year old artist with multicultural background from Norway and Iran. He works mainly with video, photography, and installations. In Calamy's work you can see personal pain that has been divided into detailed parts that are repeated and repeated to emphasize and clarify the pain. His films are on the one hand touchingly beautiful, on the other hand painfully attractive. Again and again, the artist leaves us orphaned with a mix of conflicting feelings and thoughts. Because of his Iranian background, Karou has a strong focus on political, cultural and religious conflicts in the Middle East. In 2017 his works was exhibited in 13 different countries, including UK, Spain and Sweden. In 2018 he was awarded Talent Arendal Prize for the second year in row for his art at a high national level in Norway. In 2018, he exhibited his work "HAJAR" in several countries including the "National Exhibition of Norway" where was one of the youngest artists selected.
