I was born and raised in Northern Italy (Lombardy) in 1963 and I am currently based in Manchester, UK. I studied painting and drawing at Istituto Caravaggio in Brescia in the early 1980s, and later painting at Central Saint Martins College in London in the early 1990s.
I have been painting for over 30 years, exhibiting in Verona in the late 1980s and participating in group exhibitions in Italy. My work draws on historical, socio-cultural, and environmental influences. I paint from memory and the subconscious, creating images that evoke reflection through visual and sensory journeys, where time, perception, and the human condition quietly converge.
My artistic research is rooted in a continuous exploration of memory, perception, and the subconscious. I am interested in how personal and collective histories, as well as socio-cultural and environmental conditions, shape our inner world. My influences range across different movements and traditions, from Transavanguardia and Symbolism to Conceptual Art and East Asian aesthetics.
My work explores the human condition through ambiguous, symbolic imagery, where time is suspended and meaning remains open. I am particularly interested in the tension between control and fragility, presence and absence, and the visible and the unseen. Each painting invites reflection rather than offering answers, creating a space for quiet contemplation.
The works are acrylic and mixed media on canvas ..
