I am an Italian fine art photographer based in the former Carthusian monastery of Karthaus in South Tyrol, where I live and work in my studio.
I graduated with distinction from the Prague School of Photography in Linz, Austria, and have since developed an artistic practice that combines documentary photography with conceptual approaches. The central focus of my work is transformation: the changing relationship between humans and nature, the passage of time, memory, and the visible and invisible effects of climate change. Photography becomes a medium through which these processes of change can be explored, questioned, and made tangible.
Working across photography and mixed media, I incorporate techniques such as stitching, double exposures, and handcrafted interventions that extend the photographic image beyond its traditional boundaries. These processes become an integral part of the narrative, emphasizing themes of fragility, repair, and impermanence.
The retreat of glaciers, environmental transformation, and the cultural identity of Alpine landscapes are recurring subjects in my projects. Rather than documenting these phenomena in a descriptive way, I create poetic visual narratives that invite reflection on our relationship with the natural world and on our shared responsibility for its future.
My work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and internationally, including galleries, museums, photography festivals, and cultural institutions. It has received international recognition through awards such as the Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA), the European Photography Awards, and the International Photography Awards (IPA).
Alongside my artistic practice, I publish photographic books and collaborate with museums, cultural institutions, and interdisciplinary projects that connect photography with history, science, and environmental awareness.
For me, photography is not only a means of recording reality but a visual language through which invisible processes of change become visible.
