Capturing moments as I see them and showing how they make me feel, how they made me stop and take notice. I tend to romanticize people and places; moments and faces, and then, dealing with them in my idealized state. Like walking around with my head in the clouds, daydreaming or something. Self- discovery and Life has taught me, to make my idealized world real. And share what I see. With my work, I try to recreate that moment when the image became clear, the moment I was experiencing connected, and I knew that I would always remember it that way. That feeling it stirred in me. A connection to nature that feels familiar, and contemplative. Named one of the ‘Top Artists To Watch’ in 2018 Originally, from England, Award winning New York artist Carol Brown has had exhibitions in New York, Miami, Paris, Florence, Tokyo and Barcelona. Her Documentary film, Jamaica Jamaica, an expat’s experience with emigration, won her a best director award in 2010 With a spirit of Independent Film woven throughout her work, she tells stories. Whether on film or captured on canvas, or acrylic, or in print, her characters are bold and complex inviting intrigue and exploration in the mix. The work captures a moment in time. A single moment that contains and evokes such reverence for nature, a connection, and feeling of oneness with the universe inside you. At lease, I know that is what she wants you to feel. Working on canvas and acrylic to recreate the textures and tones of the environment and bring a vivid realism and authenticity to the work. The landscapes are large, as are the stories they tell. The works look at familiar and obscure sights in nature in a more abstract way finding hidden layers in the beauty and complexity we often overlook, and appreciate rediscovering. I recently began exhibiting my work in outdoor public exhibitions. Shibuya Station Exhibition 2019, in Tokyo, and Passeig de Gracia Exhibition 2019, in Barcelona, marking my entrance, and recently The Best of SPRUNG 4 Exhibition, 2020 at Big Screen Plaza in New York City. I love it! The work is huge! I get such a buzz seeing my art out in the public arena, for all to see and enjoy. I dream of showing my work like this! We have all got our heads tuned into our devices, a part of the Network, Transhumanism luring us forward with ever enticing gadgets and toys, art offers food for the soul, a respite from the prescient pull of demand. I hope my work is seen this way, felt this way.
