Carlos Bouza was born in the German city of Karlsruhe in 1962 where he spent his childhood. When he was barely ten years old, he moved to Madrid, the city where he currently resides. Part of his childhood is spent traveling between Spain and Germany, which in all probability influences him to be the tireless traveler that he is. He has lived in the cities of Valencia and Seville, stays that have contributed greatly to his artistic development. During his Sevillian period, he traveled throughout Andalusia, camera in hand, beginning his teaching work, organizing workshops and photographic trips to Morocco and Portugal.

Although most of his work is related to photojournalism and documentary and industrial photography, he works in parallel carrying out various personal projects and developing his creativity with the collection of artistic and author photography.
An old-school photographer, he is a supporter of chemical photography, beginning in 2006 to experiment with digital photography, gradually abandoning it.
